La Finca Results

T.M.G.S. @ La Finca 30/12/20

For our last competition of 2020 our venue was the impeccable La Finca. 25 members and guests braved low temperatures and gusting winds of up to 45 kms. per hour. The course was presented in excellent condition and apart from the weather there could be no excuse for not scoring well, that is until you arrived at the greens! The greens are so good that even in more benign conditions putting would be difficult. They are true but extremely fast!! So the topic of conversation in the bar afterwards was about how many putts had been taken it seems that 4 or even 5 putts were not uncommon. Upon instructions from the Captain, John Eyre the field was divided into two categories and this will be the competition format for the foreseeable future but having two podium places as minimum in each category. Results; N.T.P. Hole 13 (Silver category) Graham Smith, hole 16 (Gold category) Ken Symon. Results for the Stableford competition; Silver category 2^nd Place John Hillier 30 points on higher handicap and in first place Graham Smith 30 points Lower handicap. Gold category; 2^nd place Alex Alm 32 points and in first place Alan Rickers 34 points. Our 2’s pot now contains a very healthy €48 after a double rollover from Villamartin last week and La Finca this week so it’s all to play for at La Marquesa next week!
